Energy and Renewable Energies technology Center won the Award of the Science Day
Energy and Renewable Energies Technology Center won the Award of the Science Day and a certificate of appreciation by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq al-Issa) as the best research center in Iraq due to publish the scientific research of the academic staff in the highly prestige and ranked international journals and obtain patents for the year 2017.
This achievement is as result of the efforts of the Center's staff and the full support of the President of the University.
The academic staff members of the center have published 27 scientific research papers in highly ranked international journal with impact factor (Thomson reuters and Scopus) and obtain six patents. This achievement reflects the high scientific level of the researchers at the center, in particular, and to all members of the university in general.

Dr. Salam Waley Shneen from our center has published a scientific research that entitled “Advance optimal for three Phase rectifier in power electronic system” in Indonesian Journal of Electric Engineering and Computer Science, Vol. 11, No. 3, September 2018, PP. 821-830
Summary about the research:
Interest in the power electronic system which used in many applications is increasing day by day. So, many researchers have focused on the analyses, design and control of these systems. In this study, Optimal for Three Phase Rectifier in Power Electronic System control strategy has been proposed for PSO-PI fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based Three Phase Rectifier in Power Electronic System. Proposed Power Electronic System(PES) consists of input, isolation and output stages. In order to test dynamic performance of PSO-PI based PES, simulation study was carried out by MATLAB/Simulink. The results obtained from the PSO-PI based PES are not only superior in the rise time, settling time and overshoot but can prevent from voltage and has improved power quality.
