An article published by Prof. Miqdam Tariq Chaichan from our center titled:

“Evaluation of the electrical performance of a photovoltaic thermal system using nano-enhanced paraffin and nanofluids

The article was published in Elsevier-Case Studies in Thermal Engineering (Scopus), Vol. 21 / October 2020 with IF = 4.010

About the research:

In this paper, a crystalline form hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was added to the nanofluid and nano-PCM, all to be used with the PV/T system to improve the overall performance, but more focus was granted in favour of the electrical yield of the PV/T. The contribution of this paper is to provide a detailed analysis of the electrical behavior of the PV/T system under the conditions of Bangi-Malaysia. The studied system cools the solar cell using the resulting nanofluid and a phase-changing material (PCM) mixed with nanoparticles to improve its thermal conductivity. Two climatic variables, irradiance and ambient temperature impact on the PV/T outcomes, are studied in detail.
