The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, honored the members of the scientific
and preparatory committees of the National Conference on Renewable Energies and their applications in view of the
efforts exerted in the success of the conference and motivating them to continue the bid for the advancement of
Iraq to the highest levels.
The University President Professor Dr. Amin Douai: The man is always looking for new sources of energy in order to
cover the needs in the applications of the evolving life that we live, and that man in the modern era is aware of
the possibility of taking advantage of the heat of the sun, which is characterized as renewable energy and permanent
and inexhaustible and This energy in our time has become a national income for some countries, so that in the Gulf
states, which is one of the world's richest oil, solar energy is used mainly and effectively. He added that the
success in the use of solar energy depends on several factors including geographical location, solar system suitability,
quality of product, technology used in product manufacturing, quality and efficiency of the components used, installation
method, operation, servicing and follow-up. He pointed out that the University of Technology boasts a center specialized
in advanced renewable energy technologies with its distinguished services which we proudly and proudly put in your hands
to serve our dear country towards a bright society and a clean environment.
Dr. Ali Hadi Al-Hamdani, Director of the Center for Energy Technology and Renewable Energies at the University,
said: "The idea of the conference is based on the role of higher education in achieving comprehensive development
in continuation of scientific and research efforts led by the University of Technology.
He added that the number of researches accepted in the conference 27 research, including 10 research from the
center and 17 external research from Iraqi universities and ministries of industry and minerals, science and
technology and electricity.
The aim of the conference is to use renewable energies in the service and development of society as well as to further
deepen the understanding of the energies of the city and rationalize consumption to reach a clean environment.
The topics of the conference included solar photovoltaic technology, solar thermal technology, wind energy technology,
energy economics and its impact on the environment and bioenergy energy.
